Our Story

The Real Mamas of Crypto began in 2022 at an ETHDenver conference with a simple question: Why isn't there a community specifically for mothers in crypto? When Joyce Lai started a Telegram chat with Maggie Hsu, another crypto mom, a movement was born. As mothers of young children who had worked in both traditional and startup environments, both within and outside of crypto, they recognized a common experience: motherhood—central to their identities and daily lives—was rarely discussed openly in professional settings.

This culture of separation between motherhood and professional identity not only isolates working mothers but also limits the potential of organizations. The Real Mamas of Crypto exists to change that narrative.

We've created a space where women are celebrated for being both mothers and professionals simultaneously. Here, motherhood isn't something to hide or overcome—it's our greatest professional asset.

Our community provides a platform for mothers to share their unique insights, challenges, and triumphs. Through regular events, mentorship programs, and online discussions, we're building a network that supports women at all stages of their maternal and professional journeys.

By embracing motherhood as an integral part of our professional identities, we're not just supporting individual women—we're advocating for a fundamental shift in how the industry views and values the contributions of mothers. Join us as we redefine what it means to be both a mother and a leader in the crypto space.

"The growth and reflection that comes with the motherhood has taken me down a journey that I did not know existed. It forces you to prioritize, grow and take risks with a cross-generational time frame. Motherhood is the greatest professional asset and society needs to treat it as such."
